Max Gersh writing for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis reported that about a dozen Memphis-area football coaches gathered Monday afternoon in a show of solidarity following the shooting death of Whitehaven High School senior and football player Demetrius Robinson. The gathering took place at the Marathon gas station at 3885 Elvis Presley Blvd. in South Memphis where the Memphis Police Department said Robinson was shot and killed Thursday.
Event organizer Marcus Taylor said, “While we’re waiting on you (politicians), my children are dying.” “If you really love us like you say you do, prove it.”
