Franklin, TN – COVID-19 has left an indelible mark on the lives of many. AvMEDICAL’s Operation American Eagle (OAE) Program partners with churches and civic organizations throughout the United States to donate and distribute face masks to provide families in distressed communities a measure of protection against contracting or spreading COVID-19. In March, AvMEDICAL made it’s largest donation yet of six million masks to Council District 9, one of the hardest impacted communities in Los Angeles. Residents of District 9 face some of the biggest challenges anywhere in the city. The distribution effort, coordinated by Los Angeles City Council Member Curren D. Price, Jr. and his team, was essential to the success of this mission. Price was instrumental in designing, coordinating and executing the mask
distribution effort throughout the local community to assist marginalized and vulnerable populations with the COVID-19 outbreak. “A mask has become a symbol of life or death during the pandemic and being able to provide our community with life saving PPE in a time of desperate need has been at the forefront of our strategy,” said LA City Councilmember Curren Price. “It has been quite a road to say the least but with the collaboration of special partners as AvMEDICAL, who shared the same fortitude of preserving the sanctity of our South LA community, we are standing tall today.” AvMEDICAL’s mission to limit exposure and help prevent further spreading of the virus in underserved communities is representative of their collective effort to serve their country and support its citizens.
