“I ask for forgiveness from my colleagues and from the residents of this city that I love so much. In the end, it is not my apologies that matter most; it will be the actions I take from this day forward. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to make amends,” Nury Martinez said.
Nury, no, no.
Nury, forgiveness granted.
But, the problem is Nury, you can’t stay at City Hall on our tax dollars.
Forgiveness for you on the outside and not any longer on the inside of City Hall because the chatter that really matter is too much for you right now. Nury you seriously need to take some time and get far away from public office and especially, the one at L. A. City Hall, the people’s place.
Nury, your message was filled with hate and hostile racial tones and they must not be made right by us accepting a quick apology after the exposure of your insensitive and repugnant words. They were so wrong and they were defiled to the core. Nury, you talked about a little innocent child as if he was not a human being, labeling him as a monkey with emphasis on his Blackness. We forgive you Nury, but we don’t want you back.
You can amend and seek a better way, just not in our City Hall, no not this fall, your time is up and you led the way, a woman, the chair and head honcho, yes Nury, we accept your apology and hope you have greater opportunities outside of our prestigious and prosperous Los Angeles City Hall walls.
So in closing, keeping it short and sweet, Nury Martinez, forgiveness granted but you can’t stay at City Hall on our tax dollars, it just wouldn’t be right in this serious social justice fight.
