The Nile Restaurant and Bar in Inglewood Is Setting High Standards for Food and Sports Enthusiasts

By Gloria Zuurveen, Editor-in-Chief

The Nile Restaurant and Bar on Market Street has it going on. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and have fun with a glass of wine from a variety of choices. I walked in with a friend and was immediately struck by shock and awe.

It was such an elegant and immaculate scene. The slick black bars, tables, and booths perfectly matched the atmosphere, where guests can enjoy a delicious meal while watching sports live on big screens. The remarkable thing about the Nile Bar is its proximity to fabulous sports teams. Just up the street, about a mile or so, is what used to be called the Fabulous Forum. Today, it has been updated and is now known as the KIA Forum. A short hop, skip, and jump south leads you to SoFi Stadium, where the Rams and Chargers play. Continuing down the road, you’ll find the NFL Headquarters, which has also made Inglewood its home.

The Nile Bar has a great opportunity to cater to the bustling crowd in the community. But that’s not all. A bit further down from SoFi Stadium is the most recent development, the Intuit Dome, which will soon be home to the L.A. Clippers. They too will claim Inglewood as their home. This is wonderful news for the Nile Bar, which sits conveniently close to all the action.

The Nile Restaurant and Bar in Inglewood is the perfect place to gather with friends and family. With football season just around the corner, there’s no need to drive far. Simply visit and enjoy the down-home greeting from the smiles on the faces that invite you to come in and sit for a while. I did, and it was fun—the food was great. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had the Buffalo Shrimp, which was deliciously sautéed and tossed in spicy buffalo sauce, served with celery and ranch dressing. I shared some with Inglewood City Clerk, Aisha L. Thompson, who had invited me to try out the special Buffalo Cauliflower. Initially hesitant, I took a bite of the crispy, crunchy, and meaty vegetable, and I was sold. I was tempted to place another order, but it was time for us to leave.

Before we left, we had the pleasure of speaking with Betty, the owner, who treated us with such grace and kindness. Betty is a gem, and The Nile Restaurant and Bar is a diamond on Market Street, near the corner of Market and Manchester. With community support, we will soon see The Nile expand to take up the empty space on the corner, giving more Inglewood residents and guests a chance to enjoy the experience and perhaps get up and dance in the heart of Inglewood—where champions meet and greet.
