Tori Bailey Receives Doctorate Degree from Haven University in Garden Grove
By Gloria Zuurveen, Editor-in-Chief
Tori Bailey, a steadfast advocate for the homeless, a servant-leader in her community and a past GLORY AWARDS recipient for shining a light on homelessness, has achieved a remarkable milestone—earning her doctorate degree from Haven University in Garden Grove. Her journey to this moment reflects not only academic excellence but also a deep commitment to living out her ministry of service.
For years, Bailey has been “standing in the gap,” willing, ready, and able to fight for the least of these. Her tireless advocacy has often meant making late-night phone calls on behalf of individuals with nowhere to turn, ensuring that those experiencing homelessness were not left without hope. A longtime member of Holman United Methodist Church on Adams, she has embodied the teachings of her faith through selfless giving and unwavering compassion.
Earning a doctorate is no small task. It requires long hours of study, rigorous research, and the completion of a dissertation reviewed and approved by a scholarly committee. Bailey persevered through the process, demonstrating the same tenacity and determination she shows in her ministry. Against all odds, she not only started the journey but finished it with excellence.
This accomplishment does not simply add the title “Doctor” before her name; it amplifies her mission. With this new academic achievement, Bailey now carries an additional asset into her ministry—greater skills, knowledge, and credibility that will further equip her to lead, to mentor, and to multiply her impact. Her doctorate is not just a personal victory; it is a win for the countless individuals whose lives she touches through her advocacy and compassion.
Dr. Tori Bailey is living proof that faith, perseverance, and a heart for service can overcome even the greatest challenges. As a minister to the homeless and a champion for those society often overlooks, her achievement is a testimony to what it means to fight the good fight and finish strong.
Congratulations, Dr. Bailey—your community celebrates you to the highest degree. This is The Southern Truth.
