It’s Not a Carjacking, It’s Not a Stolen Car Chase, It’s Not a Rape or Murder. It’s Black Business, and Black Literary Talent Matters
It’s the gathering of Black-owned businesses from across the nation. It’s the largest Black cultural event in Southern California—the Black Writers On Tour + Business + Tech Expo. This one-day powerhouse event, scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., is set to redefine “THE NEW WAY OF DOING BUSINESS IN THE AI (Artificial Intelligence) Era.”

Dr. Rosie Milligan, Founder, Black Writers On Tour
Amidst the challenging landscape of gentrification, where the demise of Black businesses looms large, Black Americans understand the urgency of connecting with consumers nationwide and globally. Through seminars and workshops focusing on “Doing Business While Black” and “Black Business Matters Too,” we’re equipping Black authors and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to thrive. Literary talent matters. The power of storytelling, especially within marginalized communities, is immeasurable. Omitting books on Black history from schools and libraries should inspire Black Americans to write their own narratives. Literacy and writing are crucial for preserving Black culture and history, not just for Black people, but for everyone. It’s about ensuring that African Americans stories are not erased or misrepresented and asserting their place in history. This year’s conference is a testament to the resilience of the Black community. With luminaries like Mr. Omar Aziz from New Orleans, showcasing World Finest Coffees (WFC) and Dr. Ken Mask from Durham, North Carolina unveiling his new game, Tic Tac MO! Jacquelyn
Thomas-Smith from Memphis, Tennessee, the founder, and CEO of Girls Pursuing Science, alongside the unprecedented sponsorship of Dr. Bill Releford, the author of 5 Colors A Day, and owner of Bloom Ranch Agriculture, the momentum is undeniable. Our theme for 2024—”Literacy is Everybody’s Business—Literacy + Entrepreneurship + Technology Changes Lives.” This event is taking place at the Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson Street, Carson, California we’re bringing together visionaries from all corners of the country to shape the future of Black entrepreneurship. Join us as we harness the power of literacy, entrepreneurship, and technology to redefine the narrative. For more information, visit blackwritersontour.com or call (213) 400-6521.
