INSIDE INGLEWOOD: Inglewood Swearing-In Ceremony Marks a Historic Day

Inglewood’s 4th District City Councilwoman Dionne Faulk, City Clerk Aisha L. Thompson, and City Treasurer Angela Allen were recently sworn in during a momentous ceremony held at one of Inglewood’s hidden gems, The Tribe, an all-occasion event venue. The gathering was a celebration of leadership and progress, attended by Mayor James T. Butts, City Councilmembers Alex Padilla and Eloy Morales, Senator Steven Bradford, Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Heather Hutt, residents from all four districts and a host of other friends and relatives.

The event highlighted the unwavering support of the Inglewood community for these three Black women leaders who have stepped up to provide the vision and guidance necessary to ensure the City of Inglewood continues to thrive in every way.

He shared personal stories of his experiences growing up in a city once marred by exclusion and inequality. “But look at Inglewood today,” he remarked, underscoring the city’s progress toward inclusivity and excellence.

City Clerk Aisha L. Thompson seized the moment to inspire the next generation. With her son present, she spoke about the importance of striving for greatness and using opportunities like this to teach valuable lessons about leadership and ambition. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the significance of representation and mentorship.
