Celebrate Juneteenth with LA County Parks on June 14 and 21
Juneteenth festivities will feature free live entertainment, cultural workshops, sports tournaments and more!
LOS ANGELES (May 30, 2025) – The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks), in partnership with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, invites the public to celebrate Juneteenth with two weekends of free, family-friendly events across all five supervisorial districts.
Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It is a celebration of freedom, heritage, and the enduring contributions of Black communities across generations.
Events will feature live music and entertainment, cultural workshops, youth and teen zones, sports tournaments, and delicious food tastings, all designed to uplift community spirit and promote reflection, unity, and joy.
“Juneteenth is a powerful opportunity to honor the legacy, culture, and resilience of Black Americans,” said Norma E. García-González, Director of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation. “These events are about more than celebration—they’re about connection, education, and amplifying the voices of our communities. We are proud to open our parks as spaces of unity and empowerment.”
