The Southern Truth: Jim Crow Is Rising Again

By Gloria Zuurveen

Here we go again—Jim Crow, raising his ugly head.
Lord, I knew he wasn’t dead.

Look around—from small towns to big cities—something dark is stirring. A revolt is rising, not from the people, but from powers determined to preserve an old, oppressive order. The fallacy of forced integration never demanded true heart change. And now, it’s as if the past is clawing its way into the present—dragging with it hatred, control, and division.

But hear this: The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof—and all who dwell in it. That includes us. All of us. We are heirs, not beggars. And what they claim as theirs was never theirs to begin with.

A poster showing the members of the 1890 Mississippian state constitutional convention. The members were overwhelmingly white Democrats; the only black member was a man who was allowed into the convention for his willingness to support black disenfranchisement.

Time has been—won’t be no more!
Satan’s scheme—disguised as an angel of light—is being exposed. His works lead only to destruction. Just ask the Hamanites. When Haman plotted to annihilate the Jews, God raised up Mordecai—born in what is now Iran—to guide his cousin Esther in the king’s palace. Why? Because there have always been those who seek to kill, steal, and destroy a people in order to seize what doesn’t belong to them.

And now, in our time, that same demonic plot has been reborn—as Jim Crowism. It no longer wears white hoods; it wears designer suits. It doesn’t carry whips; it carries policies, property deeds, and digital power. The mission is the same: to control, confine, and erase.

But this time, we see it. And we are not silent.

Millions of God’s children are standing their ground. They are rising in truth and unity against a demonic attack on the very foundation of God’s kingdom here on earth. Remember in Matthew 4 when Satan tempted Christ with all the kingdoms and wealth of the world? Jesus refused to bow. And because He stood firm, they nailed Him to a tree—choosing a murderer instead of the Messiah. But that was not the end. That was the beginning of our freedom.

Let the record show: Jim Crow never truly died. He just changed his clothes. He is alive—embedded in systems, courts, banks, and even pulpits.
He is a spirit of dominion, deception, and dispossession.

Founded by former Confederate soldiers after the Civil War (1861–1865), the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) used violence and intimidation to prevent blacks from voting, holding political office and attending school.

And yet—we have power.
Jesus said, “The Comforter will come.” That Comforter—the Holy Ghost—is the power within us to discern and to resist. Real resistance isn’t just political. It’s spiritual.

Today, just like in biblical times, we see the modern Pharisees and Sadducees rising again—those who uphold traditions of oppression while pretending to speak for God. But God’s truth cannot be buried. His people are not invisible. We are not unclean. And we are not powerless.

Across the world, and especially in America, we are witnessing an unholy alliance between political extremism and religious hypocrisy. Netanyahu in Israel. Trump in America. Their rhetoric may sound like salvation to some, but it is soaked in control, conquest, and exclusion.

This moment is not about left or right.
It’s about land, legacies, and liberation.

The quiet confiscation of property, history, and hope is happening before our eyes. While the masses are distracted, the powerful are consolidating what little remains—for themselves. But Jesus came to set the captives free—not to uphold systems of economic and racial bondage, but to break them.

So let us put away childish things and no longer play games with truth.
Let us stop entertaining lies masked as leadership.
Jim Crow isn’t some distant ghost of the past.
He’s alive. He’s bold.
And yes—he’s running for office.

But we see him.
And we stand—not in fear, but in faith.

This is The Southern Truth.
And it’s time we all heard it—before it’s too late.
