Mayor James T. Butts Jr. Announces Arrests in Brutal Murder of Inglewood Resident

(PNI) Inglewood, CA– Mayor James T. Butts Jr. today reaffirmed the City of Inglewood’s commitment to public safety, declaring that violent crime, particularly the senseless murder of innocent residents, will not be tolerated. This statement follows the announcement of two arrests in the tragic killing of Juan Miguel Sanchez, who was brutally murdered in his own yard after interrupting a catalytic converter theft in the early hours of February 25, 2025.

“Inglewood will not stand idly by while violent criminals take the lives of our residents,” said Mayor Butts. “The swift action of our dedicated homicide detectives, combined with the invaluable assistance of the community, has led to the identification and arrest of two individuals responsible for this heinous act.”

Following an extensive investigation, Inglewood Homicide Detectives, with community support, successfully identified two suspects. On the evening of March 6, 2025, the Inglewood Police Department executed a search warrant at a motel in the City of Cudahy, leading to the arrest of Wilver Alberto Rabanales and Jose Christian Saravia Sanchez. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and later booked into the Inglewood Jail for the homicide of Mr. Sanchez.

The Inglewood Police Department urges anyone with additional information about this incident to come forward. Individuals can contact Inglewood Police Department Homicide Detectives at (310) 412-5246 or provide anonymous tips through the 24-hour tip line at (888) 41-CRIME (888-412-7463).
