CITY OF INGLEWOOD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF INGLEWOOD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR ESTABLISHING AND UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT AND MAKE ASSOCIATED CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDINGS
The Mayor and Council Members of the City of Inglewood, California have scheduled a Public Hearing to gather the community’s input on establishing an underground utility district on Crenshaw Boulevard between Imperial Highway and 116th Street and make associated California Environmental Quality Act findings. The purpose of creating an underground utility district is to convert overhead electrical facilities to underground electrical facilities to reduce the risk of electrical accidents in populated areas during a storm and reduce the risk of fires caused by down power lines. Under the CPUC’s Electric Rule 20 program, the City of Inglewood received work credits that were allocated by Southern California Edison (SCE) to convert overhead electric facilities to underground facilities. The allocated work credits will cover the entire cost of the project and will require no financial assistance from the City or resident and business owners in the affected area.
