Join Councilwoman Dionne Faulk & Assemblymember Tina McKinnor for the 4th Annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway
By Gloria Zuurveen, Editor-in-Chief
Power is when two sisters in politics join forces—not for speeches or cameras—but to lift up their community’s future. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, that’s exactly what’s happening in Inglewood.
City of Inglewood 4th District Councilwoman Dionne Faulk and 61st District Assemblymember Tina McKinnor will be out in full force, working side-by-side to make sure our young people start the school year with confidence, style, and the tools they need to succeed.
📍 Where: 11200 Crenshaw Blvd, Inglewood, CA
🕙 When: Saturday, August 16, 2025
This is more than just a giveaway—it’s a community celebration. Every child who attends will receive a free backpack stuffed with school supplies—but that’s not all. There will be games, activities, and Rocco the Clown, who’s ready to bring big laughs and even bigger fun to Inglewood.
Parents, bring your children and make a day of it! There will be health screenings, important resources, and local information to help families start the year strong.
Important: You must be present to receive your backpack and to take part in the raffle prizes—so mark your calendar, bring the family, and don’t miss out.
This is how we keep unity in our community—by showing up for our youth, our neighbors, and each other. Let’s send our students back to school in style and ready to shine.
Be there—because in Inglewood, we rise together.
