INGLEWOOD-This Saturday, on Jan 18, the newly opened WePlay Studios venue in Inglewood welcomed the celebration of 1500 or Nothin’s 20th Anniversary. Many beloved music artists like Andra Day and Xzibit, comedians, and DJs took the stage to celebrate the 1500 or Nothing Day, give back to the community, and help those suffering from the LA Wildfires. The concert was supported by the City of Inglewood and welcomed the Mayor James Butts Jr. himself with his opening speech and ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the WePlay Studios in Inglewood.
The City of Inglewood has supported 1500 or Nothin since day one. Unsurprisingly, the city showed its partners, WePlay Studios, the same warm and heart-welcoming attitude.
“We were already in the middle of our preparations and rehearsals when the fire in Los Angeles started, – said Max Bilonogov, Chief Visionary Officer and Executive Producer at WePlay Studios. “Many of our friends, musicians, artists, and producers were affected. I was affected as well. However, it is not right to postpone everything; instead, it is better to use the occasion and platform to make the problem seen even more and help those in need.”

That was the moment when what was planned as WePlay Studios Presents 1500 or Nothin 20th Anniversary turned into the LA Wildfire Benefit Concert, raising money for the Inglewood Rising, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing short-term housing and resources to those displaced by the wildfires. Many performers and artists answered the call, and instead of 20 performances that were planned before the celebration, 49 artists were on stage on Jan 18. Over 1500 people attended the concert featuring LA local artists and music legends like Rapsody, Xzibit, Jon B., LaRussell, BJ The Chicago Kid, Trinidad James, and EastSide K-Boy.

Being originally from Ukraine, WePlay Studios always tries to build bridges between two countries, the United States and Ukraine. Two years ago, the company filmed a music video for legendary American songwriter Diane Warren, who gifted the song “One Nation Under Love” to the Ukrainian people for Independence Day. The song was performed by Ukrainian pop singer Tina Karol, who took the stage at the LA Wildfire Benefit Concert as well.
The 1500 or Nothin 20th Anniversary with the LA Wildfire Benefit Concert was a great and bright start for the new WePlay Studios venue in Inglewood. In the future, this will be the hub for creativity and innovation, new entertaining shows, concerts, fashion, and comedy performances. Everything you could ever dream of regarding shows and entertainment will be right down the corner in your neighborhood, in the City of Champions, Inglewood.

It was a double honor to receive a Glory Award last year at We Play Studios, a wonderful space for events and community engagement. I look forward to bring some beautiful things in association with this dynamic New Venue!
